Yushu Shi an assistant professor of the Department of Statistics and Center for Biomedical Informatics. She graduated from the School of Mathematics at Nankai University in June 2012 and later came to the Medical College of Wisconsin to pursue her Ph.D. in Biostatistics. After graduation, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Her statistical methodology research has been focusing on nonparametric Bayesian models, unsupervised clustering, survival analysis and microbiome related statistical methods. Meanwhile, she has worked with clinicians and biologists on cardiovascular and cancer research, bone marrow transplant data and next generation sequencing data.
