Around Columbia

Downtown Columbia features a number of very nice restaurants, cafes, and shops. Many of these are found along 9th Street, about a 10 minute walk north from the math department, or along Broadway Avenue. More detailed information can be found here.

There is also an extensive system of trails for hiking, running, and biking. The MKT trail can be accessed just west of the campus.

The area around MU is quite walkable, but to get to some hotels it may be necessary to drive or take a bus. Columbia has a fairly comprehensive public transportation system called COMO Connect. Please see the site for route information. There are also several local taxi companies (e.g., Taxi Terry's) as well as Uber.
