2019

  • Lab Director McCarthy gave a plenary talk at this year’s APA convention in Chicago.
  • Laura Hatz and Kayleigh McCarty both gave talks at this year’s meeting of the Society for Mathematical Psychology in Montreal.
  • Dr. Courtney Motschman (Ph.D., University of Buffalo) will join the lab this fall as a post-doctoral trainee on our T32.
  • Lab alumnus Dr. David Morris accepted a new position at Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University Medical School.
  • Rachel Wesley (BA, Mizzou, 2019) joined the lab as a project coordinator.
  • Callie Vitro from American University joins the lab for the summer as part of the MU-ARTSS program.
  • Lab Director McCarthy became a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science (APS).
  • Kayleigh McCarty was a pre-doctoral finalist for the RSA Gordis award. She gave a talk presenting her project at this year’s RSA conference in Minneapolis. 
  • Christiana Prestigiacomo was accepted into the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology at IUPUI. She will be working with Dr. Melissa Cyders.
  • Kayleigh McCarty had a first authored paper accepted in the APA journal Training and Education in Professional Psychology,
  • Laura Hatz received an NRSA fellowship from NIAAA to support her dissertation project examining mathematic models of decision making under intoxication.

2018

  • Olivia Warner joins the lab as a first-year clinical doctoral student.
  • Laura Hatz and Kayleigh McCarty both gave talks at this year’s meeting of the Society for Mathematical Psychology.
  • Laura Hatz had a first authored paper accepted in Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research.
  • Kayleigh McCarty received an NRSA fellowship from NIAAA to support her dissertation project examining neural correlates of decision making and to expand her training in neuroscience.
  • Christiana Prestigiacomo joins the lab as project coordinator.

2017

  • Lab Director Denis McCarthy received a Gold Chalk award for excellence in graduate teaching.
  • Lab Alumnus Michael Amlung and spouse Laura announced the birth of their second child, Oliver, on February 17th!
  • Laura Hatz was invited to speak at the Early Career Researcher Showcase Symposium at this year’s Collaborative Perspectives on Addiction conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico in March.
  • Lab Alumnae Hayley Treloar-Padovano was promoted to Assistant Professor (Research) at Brown University.
  • Kayleigh McCarty had a first author paper accepted in the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs.
  • Lab Alumna Hayley Treloar-Padovano received a K23 career development award from NIAAA.

2016

  • Lab Alumna Hayley Treloar married Richie Padovano on 9/23/16.
  • Kali Falnes joins the lab as a first year graduate student in the clinical area.
  • David Morris defended his dissertation and completed his internship at the Ann Arbor VA. David has a post-doctoral fellowship at the Ann Arbor VA and the University of Michigan.
